Placements24 is seeking a Junior Purchasing Officer to support procurement operations in Rustenburg, North West. This entry-level role focuses on processing requisitions, creating purchase orders, and assisting with supplier selection under supervision.

You will gain exposure to negotiation, vendor management, and inventory control while contributing to on-time production and cost-effective sourcing. Local commuting to Rustenburg is expected.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in purchasing/procurement/administration is advantageous but strong academics acceptable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing purchase requisitions and generating purchase orders.
• Source suppliers for materials and services based on criteria under supervision.
• Obtain quotes from potential suppliers and compare pricing and terms.
• Track orders to ensure timely delivery and inform delays to relevant departments.
• Maintain records of purchases, supplier information, and pricing agreements.
• Conduct basic market price research and identify potential new suppliers.
• Assist in managing inventory levels and stock accuracy.
• Support Senior Purchasing Manager in daily procurement tasks and special projects.
• Liaise with vendors to resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues.
• Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies and procedures.
