Placements24 is seeking an entry-level IT Support Technician Apprentice to join our client’s team in Tembisa, Gauteng. You’ll gain hands-on experience maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing end-user support under experienced mentors.

This apprenticeship offers comprehensive training, exposure to network administration and cybersecurity basics, and potential for certification.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in IT and technology.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows/macOS).
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Matriculation certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Car licence and local travel willingness are a plus.
• CompTIA A+ certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in person.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
• Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Document technical issues and resolutions for knowledge base creation.
• Perform routine system checks and preventative maintenance.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff.
• Support the IT team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
