Placements24 is seeking an Energy Storage Engineer for our Mahikeng, North West office. You will design and implement energy storage systems, including BESS, and develop control strategies for optimal performance.
The role requires a strong background in power electronics, system integration, and battery technologies. You will simulate, test, and commission storage projects while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy storage systems or related fields.
- Experience with battery technologies and integration.
- Strong understanding of power conversion and grid integration.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, PSS/E, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Will to work full-time from Mahikeng, North West office.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer energy storage systems including architecture.
- Develop control strategies and algorithms for operation.
- Conduct system simulations and performance analysis.
- Oversee installation, commissioning and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve energy storage issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and grid regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement and operations.
- Research new storage technologies and write technical docs.
- Provide technical support to clients and stakeholders.
