Placements24 is seeking a motivated Electrical Field Service Technician to support operations in the Northern Cape, with a primary focus on Upington. Provide on-site installation, maintenance, and repair for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, and generators at client sites across the region.

The role requires extensive travel, a Trade Test Certificate, and 4+ years in industrial electrical maintenance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a Trade Test Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an Electrical Technician servicing industrial rotating equipment.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC motors, control systems, VFDs, soft starters, and control panels.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Experience in mining, power generation, or manufacturing environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical components for rotating equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance.

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in rotating equipment solutions, is seeking a motivated Electrical Field Service Technician to support their operations in the Northern Cape, with a primary focus on the Upington, Northern Cape area. This role involves providing on-site technical expertise for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems associated with large rotating machinery, such as pumps, compressors, and generators, often found in industrial and mining settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic skills, a comprehensive understanding of industrial electrical systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This is a field-based position requiring significant travel within the region to client sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical components for rotating equipment.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in motors, control panels, VFDs, and associated systems.

Requirements
