Placements24 seeks an E-commerce Platform & Technology Lead to guide digital infrastructure from Randburg, Gauteng. The role blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility and focuses on building a robust, scalable, and secure e-commerce platform to drive business growth.

You will lead a team of developers and tech specialists, align platform roadmaps with business goals, and manage integrations, APIs, and data flows while staying ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field.
• Proven leadership of e-commerce platform development and teams.
• Experience with e-commerce architecture (CMS, PIM, CRM, OMS, payments).
• Cloud platforms and microservices experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, development, and implementation of the e-commerce platform and related tech.
• Oversee selection, integration, and management of third-party e-commerce tools.
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and product teams on roadmaps and features.
• Manage technical aspects of website integrations, APIs, and data flows.
• Stay ahead of emerging e-commerce technologies and opportunities for innovation.
• Develop and manage the e-commerce technology budget and vendor relationships.
• Ensure data privacy compliance and security best practices.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers and technical specialists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues promptly.
