Job summary

Clicks Group is seeking a Store Manager in Durban to lead the store operations team, drive sales, manage stock and expenses, and ensure brand standards. The role reports to the Area Manager and focuses on service excellence, team development, and adherence to governance and labour practices.

You will oversee merchandising, promotions, and customer experience, while building strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver the brand promise and business targets.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Maths 50% and English 50%
• B. Degree or Diploma in retail/finance management, pharmacy or related
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment or successful completion the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the store operations team to meet sales, profit and compliance targets
• Drive achievement of store financial performance by maximizing sales and monitoring targets
• Manage all operational activities including expenses, stock, shrinkage, housekeeping and administration
• Oversee in-store visual merchandising and promotions to align with brand image
• Ensure competent and motivated employees through effective selection, leadership, management and development
• Schedule staff in line with labour policy and model to ensure full staffing
• Maintain weekly time and attendance records and employee records
• Execute customer service initiatives to enhance customer experience and loyalty
• Build and maintain relationships with centre managers, suppliers, and DCs
• Monitor customer trends and competitor activity to capitalise on opportunities
• Drive cohesion between store operations, pharmacy and clinic teams
• Cultivate a high performing business culture aligned with company values
• Support the vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer
