Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Disability Support Manager to lead a team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will oversee the delivery of personalised disability support services, ensure care plans are followed, and promote client independence and wellbeing.

The role requires a social work or related degree, at least four years in the disability sector with two in supervision, strong leadership, and solid knowledge of legislation and funding models in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Disability Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the disability sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience developing and implementing individualised support plans.
• Strong understanding of different types of disabilities and person-centred approaches.
• Excellent leadership, team management and motivational skills.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of disability support workers, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Oversee development, implementation, and review of individualised support plans for clients with disabilities.
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support services that promote independence, dignity and choice.
• Conduct regular assessments of client needs and monitor intervention effectiveness.
• Liaise with families, guardians, healthcare professionals, and community services for coordinated support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Implement and monitor organizational policies and procedures related to disability support.
• Manage budgets and resources allocated to the disability support services.
• Promote a positive and inclusive environment for clients and staff.
• Stay current with best practices, legislation, and funding models in South Africa's disability sector.
