Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Event Coordinator for a contract role at an events venue and hotel in Polokwane, Limpopo. You will manage corporate conferences, weddings and private functions, handling client liaison, concept development and on-site execution.

You will coordinate with catering, banqueting and AV teams, prepare run sheets, monitor budgets and ensure successful delivery within timelines. Evening/weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in event planning, coordination or event management.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients to understand event requirements, preferences and budget.
• Develop creative event concepts and proposals including themes and decorations.
• Plan and manage logistics: venue setup, catering, AV and staffing.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for seamless execution.
• Prepare detailed timelines, floor plans and run sheets.
• Oversee on-site event setup and management according to plan.
• Manage budgets, track expenses and process invoices.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and gather client feedback.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
