Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Engineer focused on Production Optimization for our Port Elizabeth facility. The role blends on-site data analysis with remote processing and reporting to boost efficiency, throughput and safety.

You will analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, implement data-driven improvements, conduct SPC/HAZOP support, develop SOPs, and train staff. A 5+ year track record in chemical manufacturing and Lean/Six Sigma expertise are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in a chemical manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong analytical skills with data analysis experience.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data to identify trends and inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize processes and yields.
• Collaborate with plant operations to troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions.
• Conduct process capability studies and implement SPC.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for optimized processes.
• Participate in PSM and HAZOP studies.
• Evaluate new technologies or equipment to enhance efficiency.
• Train staff on new procedures and best practices.
• Prepare performance reports for management.
