Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Chemical Production Engineer to manage daily operations at our Pretoria facility. You will optimize processes, troubleshoot production issues, and drive safety and quality improvements to meet targets.

The ideal candidate has a BEng in Chemical Engineering, 5+ years in chemical manufacturing, and strong instrumentation and process control experience. You will collaborate with maintenance and quality teams in a busy, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or production.
• Solid understanding of plant operations, process safety, and quality control systems.
• Experience with process instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
• Good communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams in Pretoria.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily chemical production activities to meet output and quality targets.
• Implement and monitor process controls to ensure consistent product quality and yield.
• Identify and resolve production-related problems, implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Train and mentor production operators on best practices and operational procedures.
