Job summary

Placements24 in East London, Eastern Cape, seeks a proactive Chemical Engineer - Plant Operations Support to optimise plant performance. You will provide on-site and remote technical support, analyse processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and at least 4 years' experience in a chemical plant, with strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with DCS and data logging, and a commitment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
Minimum of 4 years in a chemical plant or process engineering role.
Strong understanding of mass/energy balances, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
Experience with process troubleshooting in manufacturing.
Familiarity with DCS and data logging is advantageous.
Good communication and ability to work with diverse teams.
Commitment to safety and ISO 9001 practices.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site and remote technical support to chemical plant operations.
Monitor process performance, identify deviations, and optimize efficiency and yield.
Troubleshoot operational issues and perform root cause analyses.
Support implementation of process improvements and capital projects.
Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
Assist in SOP development and safety reviews.
Train operators and technicians on process operations and safety.
Analyze production data and prepare reports on performance and improvements.
