Placements24 is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Event Catering Operations Coordinator to support all catering events from planning to delivery. This hybrid role blends remote administration with on-site event support in the Centurion area, Gauteng.

The candidate will coordinate logistics, manage resources, and troubleshoot operational challenges, collaborating closely with the catering team, clients, and venue staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in catering operations, event coordination or related hospitality role.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and catering best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by events.
• Comfortable working both remotely and on-site in Centurion, Gauteng area.
• A valid driver’s license and transportation are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate event logistics including staff scheduling, equipment rentals, and venue arrangements.
• Assist in preparing event proposals, menus, and client agreements.
• Liaise with chefs and kitchen staff regarding menu requirements and timelines.
• Oversee on-site catering setups and service execution to meet standards.
• Manage inventory of catering supplies, linens and equipment, coordinate with suppliers.
• Serve as the point of contact for clients and venue managers during events.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Conduct post-event operational reviews to identify improvements.
• Utilize remote work capabilities for administrative tasks like record-keeping and budget tracking.
