Government Frameworks is hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will primarily generate new sales opportunities by booking qualified product demonstrations with municipal decision-makers while working Sunday to Thursday evenings SA time.
Expect high-volume outbound calling, a metrics-driven environment and uncapped commission opportunities. You will be part of an international sales team, collaborating with Marketing and Sales to
At GovernmentFrameworks.com, we help local governments work smarter.
Our mission is simple: to improve governance through the use of modern technology and services.
Every day, we work with municipalities across Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand to modernise processes, automate manual work, improve transparency and help governments deliver better outcomes for their communities.
We're looking for ambitious, energetic and motivated people to join our growing international sales team.
You don't need years of sales experience. We're far more interested in your attitude, work ethic, resilience and willingness to learn.
If you're competitive, enjoy a challenge, love achieving goals and aren't afraid to pick up the phone, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
This is a fully remote contractor position based in South Africa, working Sunday to Thursday from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm SAST.
But let's be clear. Cold calling is the biggest part of this job.
You’ll spend a significant part of every working day picking up the phone, speaking with people you've never met and creating opportunities that didn’t exist before.
Your primary objective is straightforward: book qualified product demonstrations with local government decision-makers for our senior sales consultants.
This is a high-activity sales role. You'll be expected to make a consistent volume of outbound calls each day, actively manage your follow-ups and work towards measurable demonstration booking targets.
Some people will be interested. Others won't. Some conversations will go brilliantly, and others will end in seconds.
That’s sales.
We're looking for someone who doesn't take rejection personally, understands that consistency creates results and is motivated by the challenge of turning a cold conversation into a genuine opportunity.
You’ll need to be confident, curious, persuasive and willing to keep improving your approach.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to hide behind emails or wait for leads to come to them.
It's for someone who enjoys the challenge of creating their own success.
If your natural instinct is to think:
"That one didn't work. What can I learn from it, and how do I make the next call better?"
then you’ll probably thrive here.
As a Business Development Representative, your primary responsibility is to generate new sales opportunities by booking qualified product demonstrations with prospective municipal clients.
You’ll:
We’re more interested in your potential, attitude and work ethic than an impressive CV.
You don’t need to have worked in software sales before, but you do need to be comfortable with the reality of a role built around outbound calling.
Experience or strengths in the following areas will help:
Previous experience in SaaS, technology, consulting or government-related sales is an advantage, but not essential.
What matters most is your willingness to learn, your determination to succeed and your ability to consistently put in the effort required to achieve results.
At Government Frameworks, you’ll join a global team of people who genuinely care about making a difference.
We live our values every day:
We offer:
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for people who want to grow with us.
Whether your ambition is to become an exceptional Business Development Representative, progress into senior sales or build a long-term career in the technology industry, this role provides an opportunity to develop valuable skills and demonstrate what you’re capable of.
