Placements24 is seeking a Banqueting & Events Manager for a luxury hotel in George, Western Cape. You will oversee the full event lifecycle from inquiry to delivery, ensuring exceptional service, creative execution and profitability.

You will liaise with clients, tailor proposals, manage budgets, coordinate with Kitchen, F&B, AV and housekeeping, and lead a team to deliver high-profile weddings, conferences and corporate events in a vibrant coastal setting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in event management, banqueting, or related hospitality roles.
• Experience with weddings, conferences, and corporate functions.
• Strong logistics, menu planning, and AV knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office and event software.
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality/Event Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute banqueting and event functions with seamless delivery.
• Liaise with clients from inquiry to post-event follow-up and tailor solutions.
• Develop detailed proposals with costing, menu, and décor.
• Manage the event budget to ensure profitability and targets.
• Coordinate with Kitchen, F&B, Housekeeping, AV for smooth execution.
• Supervise on-site staff and uphold service standards.
• Conduct pre- and post-event debriefs for feedback and improvements.
• Keep abreast of event trends, venues, and suppliers.
• Manage inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues during events promptly and professionally.
