Placements24 is seeking a Banqueting Operations Manager for a premier event venue and hotel in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee all banqueting and events from client consultations to service delivery, leading a team to ensure flawless execution and exceptional guest experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, meticulous planning, and the ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in banqueting or event management.
• Proven experience in managing teams and large-scale events.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or Event Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage banqueting and event operations from setup to breakdown.
• Coordinate with clients, sales teams, and kitchen staff to meet requirements.
• Supervise and train the banqueting team to high service standards.
• Develop and implement event operating procedures to boost efficiency.
• Manage event budgets including forecasting, cost control, profitability analysis.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Oversee inventory of banqueting equipment and supplies.
• Troubleshoot issues during events and implement immediate solutions.
• Act as main client contact during events.
