Qualifications

• Proven experience as Banqueting or Events Manager, preferably within a hotel or dedicated event venue.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in event planning and management.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as dictated by events.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of all banqueting and event functions.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand their event requirements, providing expert advice and customized proposals.
• Develop detailed event timelines, floor plans, and logistical arrangements, ensuring all client needs are met.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including catering, audiovisual, security, and facilities, to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring they meet high standards in Benoni.
• Manage event budgets, ensuring profitability and accurate financial reporting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during events, ensuring minimal disruption and client satisfaction.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and client feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and external partners.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event management.
