Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive and organized Banquet Coordinator for a prestigious Soweto venue. You will assist in planning and executing banquets and events, working closely with sales, catering teams and clients to ensure every detail is managed from inquiry to post-event follow-up.

Key duties include coordinating room setups, menu selections and AV, liaising with hotel departments, preparing proposals and billing information, conducting site visits, and overseeing on-site coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience in event planning, catering coordination, or banquet services.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build client rapport.
• Proficient in event management software and standard office applications.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate banquet logistics, including room setup, menu selections, and audiovisual requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between clients, the catering team, and hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Prepare event contracts, proposals, and billing information accurately.
• Conduct site visits with potential clients and provide tours of banquet facilities.
• Oversee on-site event coordination, troubleshooting any issues during the event.
