Placements24 is looking for an Automotive Logistics Coordinator to join our client in Sandton, Gauteng. You will manage inbound and outbound shipments, liaise with carriers, track inventory, and ensure on-time delivery.

About the Role Our client, a prominent global player in the automotive logistics and supply chain management sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Automotive Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Sandton, Gauteng . This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and timely movement of automotive parts and finished vehicles across various networks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain operations. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing inventory, liaising with carriers, and optimizing logistical processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of inbound and outbound logistics for automotive parts and/or vehicles.
• Manage relationships with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Track shipments, monitor inventory levels, and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce transit times and logistics costs.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, manufacturing, sales) to ensure smooth coordination of supply chain activities.
• Maintain accurate records of logistics operations, including shipment details, costs, and delivery performance.
• Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the logistics function and contribute to their implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation modes, and logistics operations.
• Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
