Job summary

Clicks Group Limited is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in delivering exceptional store operations and customer service. You will drive sales, manage stock, and supervise staff to meet targets and brand standards.

Essentially, you will execute promotional activities, oversee labour scheduling, and ensure compliance with group policies. This role requires leadership, financial acumen and a strong customer focus in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 with Maths/English
• Desirable: Degree in Retail/Business Management
• Minimum 1 year in assistant store management in retail/FMCG
• Financial management experience (budgets, P&L, ratios)

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager to ensure efficient store operation and service excellence
• Drive sales through promotions, cross-selling and upselling
• Manage stock, expenses, shrinkage, housekeeping and admin
• Ensure in-store visual merchandising meets brand standards
• Motivate and direct staff, and cover in manager's absence
• Maintain daily staff schedules per labour policy
• Deliver customer service initiatives to enhance loyalty and club card targets
• Complete weekly timekeeping and HR records
• Live the brand values to be customers' first choice
