Job summary

Clicks Group is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for Clicks Franschhoek in the Cape Town area. You will support the Store Manager to drive sales, deliver service excellence, and uphold store standards, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

You will manage day-to-day operations, staff schedules, stock control and promotional activities. The role requires strong leadership, financial awareness, and a customer-focused mindset to maximise profitability and brand image.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Maths and English at least 50%
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an assistant store management role in retail/FMCG
• Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in efficient store operation and service excellence by driving sales and customer loyalty.
• Drive achievement of store financial performance through promotions, cross-selling and upselling.
• Execute daily store operations including expenses, stock, shrinkage and housekeeping.
• Lead in-store visual merchandising to meet brand standards.
• Motivate and guide staff to meet targets; cover in manager's absence.
• Maintain daily work schedules per labour policy and staffing plans.
• Implement customer service initiatives to enhance customer experience and loyalty.
• Complete administrative tasks and HR records on a timely basis.
