Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in architectural design and BIM coordination.

About the Role

Our client is a dynamic architectural firm specializing in the design and delivery of high-profile commercial developments across South Africa. We are seeking an experienced Architectural BIM Coordinator to join our team in Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is pivotal in managing and coordinating Building Information Models (BIM) to ensure seamless integration of design information across all project disciplines. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of BIM workflows, excellent coordination skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance design and construction processes. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance between on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our BIM deliverables for major commercial projects in the Gauteng region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the architectural BIM process for commercial projects, ensuring adherence to the BIM Execution Plan.
• Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, and other consultant models using Navisworks or similar clash detection software.
• Generate detailed construction documentation, drawings, and schedules from BIM models.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all architectural BIM deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with architects, designers, project managers, and external consultants to resolve design issues and clashes.
• Develop and maintain BIM standards, templates, and libraries for architectural models.
• Provide training and support to project teams on BIM software and workflows.
• Conduct regular BIM review meetings and workshops.
• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and industry best practices.
• Manage digital project data and ensure efficient information exchange among project stakeholders.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in architectural design and BIM coordination.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit Architecture and Navisworks.
• Demonstrated experience in clash detection, model federation, and quality control.
• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, and South African building codes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Experience with other BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp) is a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a team.
• A strong portfolio showcasing successful BIM coordination on commercial projects.
