Placements24 is seeking a skilled BIM Coordinator with a strong architectural background to join our remote South Africa team. You will develop and enforce BIM standards, manage models, and coordinate interdisciplinary information exchange across projects nationwide.

You will work primarily with Revit and Navisworks, ensure BEP alignment, support the architectural team, perform clash detection, and help drive the adoption of cutting-edge BIM technologies.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
• Proven BIM coordinating experience on architectural or multi-disciplinary projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and Navisworks.
• Strong knowledge of BIM standards (ISO 19650) and BEP development.
• Ability to collaborate remotely and coordinate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.

About the Role

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary design consultancy, is seeking a skilled BIM Coordinator with a strong architectural background to join their team, remotely serving projects across South Africa, including those in Welkom, Free State . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) across all architectural projects. You will be responsible for developing and enforcing BIM standards, managing BIM models, coordinating information exchange between disciplines, and providing technical support to the architectural team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of BIM workflows, software (primarily Revit), and a keen eye for detail to maintain model integrity and accuracy. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows for architectural projects.
• Manage and coordinate the creation and integrity of BIM models, ensuring adherence to project requirements.
• Facilitate information exchange between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines within the BIM environment.
• Provide technical support and training to architectural staff on BIM software and best practices.
• Conduct clash detection analysis and resolve coordination issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all BIM models comply with project LOD (Level of Development) requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and design teams to integrate BIM into the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes and technologies within the company.
• Maintain the BIM execution plan (BEP) and ensure its effective implementation.
• Assist in the preparation of BIM documentation and reports for project stakeholders.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator or in a similar BIM-focused role within an architectural or engineering firm.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of BIM principles, workflows, and standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
• Experience with other BIM software and collaboration platforms is an advantage.
• Excellent understanding of architectural design and construction processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate remotely.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
• Experience supporting projects in regions like Free State or similar is beneficial.
