Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Analytical Development Chemist for our client in Nelspruit to develop, validate and transfer analytical methods for drug substances and products, supporting development and commercialization while ensuring quality and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in pharmaceutical analytical method development, expertise in HPLC/GC and spectroscopy, and an ICH-driven approach to testing with a hybrid work arrangement in Nelspruit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytical method development and validation in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency with chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC) and associated detectors.
• Experience with spectroscopy (UV-Vis, IR, Mass Spectrometry) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements for analytical testing.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods for drug substances and products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.
• Transfer validated methods to Quality Control laboratories for routine testing.
• Perform method troubleshooting and optimization to improve robustness and efficiency.
• Characterize impurities and degradation products using advanced analytical instrumentation.
• Author method validation reports, analytical procedures, and specifications.
• Stay updated on regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) and analytical technologies.
