Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Chemist for the Analytical Development team in Richards Bay. The role focuses on development, validation, and implementation of analytical methods for characterization and QC of new chemical entities and existing products.

You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art laboratory, collaborating with formulation scientists and process engineers to ensure regulatory compliance through rigorous testing and method optimization.

Qualifications

• Requires MSc or PhD in Chemistry.
• At least 5 years of experience in analytical method development and validation.
• Expertise in HPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, UV-Vis and titration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate robust analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing to support development and QC.
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and resolve method-related issues.
• Write detailed method development reports, validation protocols, and analytical procedures.
• Ensure GLP and regulatory compliance in laboratory activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide analytical expertise throughout the product lifecycle.
