About the Role

Our client, a growing entity within the retail sector, is seeking a meticulous and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team. You will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring the accuracy of the accounts payable ledger. Key Responsibilities

• Process all vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Verify and match invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports.
• Prepare and schedule vendor payments via EFT or other agreed methods.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain the accounts payable ledger and ensure it is up-to-date.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Generate accounts payable aging reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks).
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and principles.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, both remotely and in the office.
