Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites in Lincoln, NE. The role may supervise Safety professionals and requires strong leadership and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a safety or occupational health degree, CSP/CHST credentials preferred, and a track record in construction safety management across complex projects. Travel up to 100% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• Alternate: high school diploma, CHST, OSHA 500 with 10 years construction leadership.
• Experience leading safety programs and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight across multiple project sites under the Zero Injury program.
• Lead teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings with subs.
• Mentor Safety staff and oversee incident data and OSHA reporting.
• Conduct work area safety audits and major incident analysis.
• Monitor subcontractor safety activities.
