Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead safety efforts across multiple project sites under the Zero Injury program. You will interact with staff at all levels, provide leadership, and mentor safety professionals while ensuring compliance and confidentiality.

The role requires a bachelor’s in safety or equivalent, extensive construction safety experience, CSP preferred, and willingness to travel up to 100%. Competitive benefits include medical, 401k, paid time off, and an incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent required.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• Alternate: high school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500 and 10 years of construction leadership.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Zero Injury Safety program across multiple sites.
• Lead site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation.
• Review submittals and attend preconstruction meetings.
• Mentor Safety staff and coordinate with engineers.
• Monitor safety metrics and OSHA reporting.
