Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead and support our Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites. You will supervise safety professionals and guide project teams in electrical safety, training, and incident analysis.

The role requires strong leadership, OSHA knowledge, and travel up to 100% to field locations. A Bachelor’s in safety or equal experience, CSP/CHST, and a proven track record in construction safety are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• Alternate: High school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500 and 10 years of construction safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership for the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple sites.
• Lead project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety/orientation programs including train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings with subcontractors.
• Provide mentorship to Safety staff and coordinate with engineers and safety coordinators.
• Monitor and analyze injury/hazard statistics and OSHA reports.
• Conduct work area safety audits and major incident analysis.
• Review subcontractor safety performance and activities.
