Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead safety programs across multiple project sites within the Zero Injury Safety initiative. The role requires directing safety professionals, coordinating training, and ensuring OSHA compliance while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism on diverse construction sites.

The candidate should bring a Bachelor's degree in safety or related field and 6+ years of construction safety experience, with CSP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• High school diploma with CHST, OSHA 500 and 10 years of construction experience.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing project safety programs.
• CSP certification preferred.
• Current driver's license.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple project tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety-related software.
• Strong customer service skills and professional attitude.
• Ability to travel up to 100%
• Knowledge of EEO and affirmative action policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership across multiple project sites.
• Lead project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training.
• Review safety submittals and attend preconstruction meetings with subcontractors.
• Provide direction and mentorship to Safety staff and coordinators.
• Oversee documentation, tracking, and analysis of safety statistics and OSHA reports.
• Conduct work area safety audits.
• Conduct or assist with major incident analysis.
• Monitor subcontractor activities for safety concerns.
