Job summary

Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP) seeks a full-time Program Director to lead its DYCD-funded Compass middle school program. The Director oversees daily site operations, ensuring after-school activities align with school-day learning and support youth development.

You will supervise staff, recruit participants, liaise with parents and school personnel, and collaborate with partners to promote SEL and physical well-being.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) in child development, elementary education, physical education, or related field, plus 2 years direct experience with children under 13; at least 1 year supervising.
  • NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential or SACC credential or equivalent with 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to work with school personnel and families.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and implement age-appropriate educational, SEL, and recreational activities.
  • Manage recruitment, enrollment, and attendance; communicate with parents and school staff.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, and supervise program staff for high-quality service delivery.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, community organizations, and stakeholders on program initiatives and events.
  • Design activities that promote youth well-being and complement school-day learning.
  • Maintain SACC certifications and participant records; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Recruit and retain participants per grant requirements; coordinate crisis navigation planning.
  • Serve as Inclusion Coordinator to connect families with DYCD resources.
