Job summary

RFCUNY is seeking a full-time Program Director for the Brooklyn College Community Partnership's DYCD-funded Compass middle school program in Brooklyn, NY. The role oversees daily operations, staff supervision, and alignment of after-school activities with school-day learning to support youth development.

Responsibilities include recruiting and engaging families, coordinating with school personnel, and ensuring compliance with NYC DOE, DYCD, and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, or related field with 2 years of direct experience with children under 13, including 1 year in supervision.
• Or NYS credentials (Administrator or SACC) with 2 years of direct experience and supervisory work.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to work with school personnel; proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and implement age-appropriate educational, SEL, and recreational activities while meeting program goals.
• Manage recruitment, enrollment, attendance, and maintain parent and school communications.
• Recruit, hire, coach, and supervise program staff; ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with school admins, community partners, and stakeholders on program initiatives.
• Design activities that promote youth well‑being and complement school learning with the Director and Content Specialist.
• Maintain trainings, participant records, and DYCD Connect updates weekly.
• Serve as Inclusion Coordinator, identifying resources and supports for participants and families.
• Lead weekly staff meetings; review timesheets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support the Leadership Team and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Provide a safe, welcoming environment; orient participants and families; conduct staff evaluations.
