Job summary

Grand St Settlement Inc. in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Program Director to lead the COMPASS Middle School after-school program. You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, coordinate partnerships, and ensure quality service delivery in alignment with DYCD requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in community-based youth work, and at least 2 years in supervision, with 30-hour SACC credentials or ability to obtain them.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum three years in a community center or school-based after-school program; two years in a supervisory role.
• Must obtain SACC Program Director credentials (30 hours).
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and take initiative.
• Strong oral, written, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of our DYCD COMPASS and related programs.
• Coordinate outreach, enrollment, and attendance processes.
• Ensure the program achieves 85% Average Daily Attendance.
• Lead activities in academic support, STEM, arts enrichment, and wellness.
• Partner with school staff, recruit new partners, and manage staff schedules.
• Maintain communications with families, school personnel, and stakeholders.
