Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation seeks a Program Director to oversee the After School/ COMPASS Program on-site in Brooklyn. You will supervise staff, coordinate activities by age group, and ensure alignment with program standards and funding guidelines.

The role reports to the Deputy Director of Youth Programs, requires strong leadership and collaboration with schools, families and community partners, and includes daily supervision of a dynamic youth program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
• Child care credential or equivalent required for licensing.
• Significant supervisory experience in afterschool/youth services.
• Strong knowledge of DYCD/DOH licensing and related regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the COMPASS program, ensuring compliance with standards and funding guidelines.
• Plan and organize a structured age-appropriate program with activities.
• Supervise staff and maintain regular communication with schools, participants and families.
• Assist with budgets, hiring, and ongoing staff development.
• Ensure safety, health regulations and documentation compliance.
