Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation seeks a Program Director to oversee the COMPASS After School Program. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Youth Programs, you will ensure program standards, coordinate age-appropriate activities, and supervise staff.

This full-time, on-site position requires strong leadership, budgeting, and compliance with DYCD/DOH licensing. Collaborative engagement with schools and families is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Associate’s degree in child development, elementary education, physical education required.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent with 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development / Elementary Education / Physical Education / Recreation.
• 4 years supervision experience in afterschool programs or youth services.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Certifications for SACC/DOH/DYCD licensing required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the after-school COMPASS Program.
• Plan and organize structured activities by age group, including educational and recreational components.
• Supervise staff and maintain clear communication with schools, participants and families.
• Assist in budgeting, funding coordination, and staff hiring and evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with program standards and funding guidelines.
