Job summary

YMCA of Western North Carolina is seeking an Entry-level Youth Development Attendant at the Ferguson Family YMCA in Candler, NC. This part-time position supports safe childcare for members and their children, while upholding the YMCA mission and policies.

You will supervise children, engage them in age-appropriate activities, and maintain a clean, safe area. CPR certification must be completed within 90 days of hire; prior childcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Must be working toward a high school diploma or GED.
• CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Previous childcare experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

Responsibilities

• Greets members and children enthusiastically and learns names.
• Performs check-in and check-out duties.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment during shifts.
• Follows YMCA policies in medical, disciplinary, and emergency situations.
• Assists with activities and supervises children throughout programming.
