Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Kid Zone Care Attendant in Raleigh, NC to supervise a group of children in a childcare setting and to provide a quality experience to children and parents based on YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Schedule: Mondays–Thursdays 8:30 am–1:15 pm, Fridays 8:30 am–1:15 pm, and Saturdays 7:30 am–12:15 pm. The role requires being at least 16 years old with a friendly, professional demeanor and the ability to relate to diverse groups.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Previous child care experience preferred.
• Professional, courteous and friendly.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.
• Multilingual desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a group of children during activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Models relationship-building in all interactions.
• Maintains clear communication within area of responsibility.
• Maintains group control and handles situations with a positive attitude.
• Ensures safety and cleanliness of the program environment.
• Acts as a positive role model with parents, children, and staff.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Follows YMCA policies including dress code, medical and disciplinary procedures, and emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
