Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Business Administration, or Public Administration required.
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of five years of management/supervisory experience.
• Must complete Juvenile Detention Officer Training at FLETC as required by BIA.
• CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of hire.
• Background check and good moral character required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability by Tribe, with annual review.
• Adherence to Drug-Free Workplace Policy, including possible random drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates staff activities regarding care and treatment of residents.
• Maintains safe living standards and environment for residents.
• Consults with service providers to enhance services.
• Controls costs and reports expenditures to Chief of Police.
• Participates in development of treatment model/program plans.
• Reviews goals to resolve problems and improve work products.
• Coordinates staffing, scheduling, and priority setting.
• Oversees intake, release, and use of center vehicles.
• Supervises residents in crisis and emergency situations.
• Represents the facility in communications with community and service providers.
• Maintains and monitors incident, intake, and other records.
