Job summary

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is seeking a Custodian to maintain the Chi Mukwa Community Recreation facility’s indoor and outdoor spaces. Under the Recreation Facility Manager, you will clean, sanitize, and prepare the venue for events.

You will set up and tear down tables, chairs, stages and other items, operate lawn equipment, prepare daily work reports, and assist with crowd control. A high school diploma is required; one year custodial experience preferred; CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year custodial experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification and First Aid training upon hire; background check and drug testing will be provided.
  • Knowledge of basic custodial duties and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to work independently and with the public; flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Clean exterior grounds and interior facility; sanitize surfaces and equipment.
  • Set up/tear down tables, chairs, stages, bleachers for events.
  • Operate lawn equipment and hand/power tools; monitor refrigeration system daily.
  • Prepare daily work reports and assist with crowd control.
  • All other duties as assigned.
