Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a Youth Development Professional to support the development and operation of a quality school-age childcare program in accordance with Delacare rules. The role emphasizes safety, age-appropriate activities, and positive youth development.

Under supervision of the Childcare or Program Director, you will deliver diverse programs for ages 6-12, supervise participants, and foster strong partnerships with families and schools.

Qualifications

• Must have School Age Site Assistant Certificate
• Level II requires 20+ years and ability to drive 8-passenger van with valid license (less than 5 points)
• First Aid/CPR Certification, or completion within two months of hire
• Must possess a School Age Site Coordinator Certificate from the Department of Education
• Level III requires a School Age Site Coordinator Administrator certificate from the Department of Education
• All Levels must pass FBI clearance and multiple background checks per DelaCare regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and operation of a quality school-age childcare program
• Deliver age-appropriate programs and activities reflecting core program areas and Youth Development Strategy
• Ensure safety and proper implementation of programs; assess equipment and facilities
• Supervise children within guidelines and maintain productive relationships with parents and staff
• Present yourself as a positive role model and adhere to policies and Delaware STARS
