Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Site Director to lead a school-age enrichment program in Pearland, TX. You will direct staff, ensure safety and high-quality activities aligned with YMCA core values, and monitor behavior and program compliance.

The role focuses on managing daily operations, coordinating curriculum, engaging with families, and ensuring licensing standards are met. Strong leadership and safety oversight are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development; two college courses equal 100 clock hours.
• At least 1 year of experience with youth at a licensed facility, church, school, or equivalent.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Current tuberculosis examination and/or local health department regulations compliance.

Responsibilities

• Site Management: oversee daily operations of the afterschool program ensuring safety and compliance with licensing standards.
• Supervision and Safety: maintain attendance records, monitor activities, respond to emergencies per YMCA policies.
• Behavior Management: apply positive behavior management techniques to foster inclusive environment.
• Program & Policy Compliance: conduct safety drills, display postings, follow health, safety, and confidentiality policies.
• Program Planning and Implementation: oversee age-appropriate activities and curriculum adherence.
• Parent and Community Engagement: communicate with parents on progress and concerns.
• Administrative Duties: maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention: develop strategies to promote enrollment and retention.
• Program Quality: implement lesson/activity plans per YMCA model and standards.
• Program Evaluation: participate in Youth Program Quality (YPQ) processes.
• Child Abuse Prevention: report concerns and ensure secure access control.
