Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a program support professional to deliver youth development, healthy living and social responsibility initiatives. You will work under supervision to implement activities, engage members and coach staff to uphold YMCA standards.

This on-site role requires strong communication, teamwork and a commitment to safety. You will help plan activity schedules, assist with staff onboarding, track registrations, and participate in center events and fund-raising activities.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, program delivery or related experience.
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with children and adults.
• Desire to work with children and families and the ability to relate to them in a positive, patient, sensitive and non-judgmental manner.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.

Responsibilities

• Develop member relationships and improve engagement within the program area.
• Participate in events, meetings and staff trainings.
• Support Program Director to ensure program and safety standards.
• Monitor program delivery and provide feedback; plan activity schedules.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding and training new staff.
• Assist with new program initiatives and marketing materials.
• Identify concerns and resolve them with Program Director; report safety issues.
• Participate in CDLOD schedule and other duties.
• Support staffing, supplies and equipment needs.
