Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware seeks a Youth Development Professional to support a high-quality school-age childcare program under the supervision of the Childcare or Program Director. You will help ensure compliance with current DelaCare rules for school-age centers and contribute to a safe, nurturing environment for youth.

Youth workers will deliver age-appropriate activities for ages 6–12, supervise participants, and maintain constructive relationships with parents and school partners while

Qualifications

• Must have School Age Site Assistant Certificate
• Must possess a School Age Site Coordinator Certificate from the Department of Education
• Must possess a School Age Site Coordinator Administrator certificate from the Department of Education
• All Levels must be able to pass FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per DelaCare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and operating a quality school-age childcare program compliant with current DelaCare rules for centers.
• Deliver a variety of age-appropriate programs reflecting Boys & Girls Club’s five core program areas and Youth Development Strategy for children ages 6–12.
• Help ensure safe implementation of all programs and activities, including equipment and facility safety and age-appropriateness.
• Supervise children within guidelines established by Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware and licensing regulations.
• Maintain productive relationships with parents, school faculty and staff, and other visitors to the Club.
• Present yourself as a positive role model for children at all times.
• Adhere to BGCDE OCCL and Delaware STARS policies and practices.
• Contribute toward development of a positive identity and strong presence for the Club in the community.
• Assume other tasks and responsibilities as needed.
