Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a Youth Development Professional to help develop and operate a high-quality school-age childcare program compliant with Delacare rules. The role focuses on delivering engaging activities, ensuring safety, and building positive relationships with families and school staff.

Your work supports the Club’s five core program areas, promotes a nurturing environment for children aged 6–12, and requires adherence to licensing standards and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Level II requires 20+ years and ability to drive an 8-passenger van with a license under 5 points.
• Level III requires DOE Site Coordinator Administrator certificate and 20+ years and driving ability.
• All levels require FBI clearance and background checks as per Delacare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and operation of a quality school-age childcare program compliant with Delacare rules.
• Deliver age-appropriate programs reflecting Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware core areas and Youth Development Strategy.
• Ensure safe implementation of programs and supervise equipment and facilities.
• Supervise children within guidelines established by Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware and licensing regulations.
• Maintain productive relationships with parents, school faculty and staff, and other visitors.
• Present yourself as a positive role model for children at all times.
• Adhere to BGCDE OCCL and Delaware STARS policies.
• Contribute toward a positive identity and presence for the Club in the community.
• Assume other tasks, assignments and responsibilities as needed.
