Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain seeks a Youth Development Professional to plan, organize, promote, and implement diverse programming for youth. The role includes overseeing activities, orienting new members, and modeling positive behavior in a safe, engaging setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development.
• Instruction of youth while creating engaging learning experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to work well with the public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Utilize free and donated supplies and encourage donations from community contacts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare youth for success and promote youth development outcomes.
• Create an environment facilitating program participation in activities and events.
• Orient new members to program areas and safety rules.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Implement, monitor and evaluate programs, and develop weekly/monthly plans.
• Monitor safety and quality of programs and recognize participation.
• Maintain attendance records and CACFP compliance if applicable.
• Maintain order and discipline of club members.
• Supervise and train volunteers and program assistants.
• Ensure productive work environment by attending club leader meetings.
• Monitor and maintain supplies; keep the supply room neat.
• Keep program area attractive and up-to-date; suggest repairs as needed.
• Participate as part of a team to run quality programs and training opportunities.
