Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain seeks a Youth Development Professional to plan, organize, promote and implement a diversified program across core areas. Under the Unit Director's supervision, you will prepare youth for success and create an environment that supports youth development outcomes.

You will implement programs, monitor safety, supervise volunteers, and maintain records, while collaborating with staff to run quality programs and drive participation in youth activities.

Qualifications

• Skilled in art, music, STEM, technology (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to work well with the public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare youth for success
• Creates an environment that facilitates youth development outcomes.
• Promotes and stimulates daily learning center program participation
• Orients new members to program area, safety rules
• Provides guidance and role modeling to members
• Implements, monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities for members
• Develops and posts weekly and monthly program plans
• Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure safety and quality
• Recognizes club members for participation and achievement
• Maintains attendance records
• Maintain CACFP point of service and clean up
• Maintains order and discipline of club members
• Supervises and trains volunteers and program assistants
• Ensures a productive work environment by participating in club leader meetings
• Monitors supply needs
• Keeps supply room neat and orderly
• Ensures program area is attractive and current
• Makes repairs to facility and equipment
• Participates as part of a team to run quality programs; may drive the club van
• Participates in training/educational opportunities to expand knowledge and skills
