Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain seeks a Youth Development Professional to plan, organize, promote, and implement diverse programs across BGCCP’s core areas under the Unit Director.

You will work with youth to support daily learning activities, orient new members, supervise volunteers, maintain attendance records, and help ensure a safe, engaging club environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: art, music, STEM or technology experience.
• Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate youth.
• Ability to manage behavior and supervise members in a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare youth for success.
• Creates an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes.
• Promotes daily learning center program participation and events.
• Orients new members to program area, safety rules, and opportunities.
• Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
• Implements and monitors programs; develops weekly/monthly plans.
• Maintains attendance and participation records.
• Supervises volunteers and program assistants.
• Maintains a clean, safe program and facility environment.
