Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader for before/after school and day camp programs in Pearland, TX. You will create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth while building relationships with families and staff.

You’ll lead activities, enforce safety policies, and model YMCA values. Part-time schedule with afternoon programs and day camps; participation in trainings and team meetings is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe, engaged, and accounted for at all times. Follow YMCA policies and training.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment using positive behavior-management techniques.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning aligned with the YMCA curriculum.
• Model honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith for youth.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
