Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader for before/after school and day camp programs in Texas. You’ll foster a safe, engaging, and nurturing space where youth feel valued and excited to learn, while upholding YMCA policies and state licensing standards.

As part of a mission-driven team, you’ll create inclusive activities, supervise daily operations, and build strong partnerships with families and school staff.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and HS diploma or GED.
• Six months of youth experience in licensed settings or similar.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and Child Abuse Prevention training or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities and work with diverse populations.
• Pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting; TB test and immunizations as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and supervise children, headcounts and incident response.
• Lead fun, meaningful activities and adapt to individual needs.
• Create a welcoming environment and model YMCA values.
• Support daily operations and keep spaces clean and compliant with standards.
• Build strong relationships with youth, families, and staff; collaborate with teams.
