Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader in Pearland, TX, to support before/after-school and day camp programs. This part-time role offers a chance to create a safe, engaging environment for youth while building meaningful relationships with families and staff.

You’ll gain leadership experience and professional development in a mission-driven setting, with a temporary $3/hour stipend available for eligible locations.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Monitor safety, conduct headcounts, and follow YMCA policies.
• Lead activities and adapt curriculum to meet diverse youth needs.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
• Maintain a clean, organized program space meeting licensing standards.
