Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring a Youth Development Leader in Pearland, TX for part-time before/after school and day camp programs. You’ll create a safe, engaging environment where youth learn and grow, while building strong relationships with families and staff.

Responsibilities include supervision, activity leadership, and ensuring program safety; a passion for youth development and collaboration with school staff is essential. Benefits include training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in licensed facilities, schools, churches, or similar settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and required immunizations per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe, engaged, and accounted for at all times; monitor activities.
• Foster a welcoming environment using positive behavior-management techniques.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Demonstrate YMCA values in daily actions as a role model.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space meeting standards.
• Build relationships with children, families, staff, and the YMCA team.
• Ensure proper sign-in/out procedures and vigilant supervision.
